Stuart is a leading UK infrastructure and project finance lawyer, based in our Edinburgh and London offices. He is dual qualified in Scotland and in England and Wales and has extensive experience working for funders, sponsors and public authorities in project finance deals in Scotland, the UK and beyond. 

Stuart has acted as lead finance partner on deals across various sectors including transport, education, health, "blue light" services and renewables. He also has extensive knowledge and experience of the Scottish NPD model of project finance, including advising the authority on the first such project to close. 

Stuart's recent experience includes acting as lead adviser on the financing of the North Yorkshire Waste project, advising the funders on the Stoke Extra Care Housing PFI project, advising the funders to BAM PPP preferred bidder on the Irish Schools Bundle 4 Project, lead adviser to the funders (EIB, NAB, Barclays, SMBC and KfW- IPEX Bank) on the c£350 million M80 Stepps to Haggs upgrade. This was one of the most significant UK projects to close during the credit crunch as well as the last "traditional" PFI deal to close in Scotland.  Stuart also acted as lead adviser to the sponsor on the financing of the c£1bn Wakefield Waste PFI Project (financial close January 2013).
